Beyond the Book

Every great story deserves another chapter.

Beyond the Book is a monthly Curiosity Circle where one incredible book becomes the starting point for something bigger.

Learners read our featured book before we meet, then come together to follow where the story leads us — through thoughtful discussion, hands-on challenges, creative exploration, games, tastings, investigations, and immersive experiences inspired by what we've read.

Because sometimes the best part of a book isn't simply finding out what happens.

It's wondering, questioning, noticing, and figuring things out along the way.

Come for one story or journey with us through the entire season. Each month offers a complete experience of its own, while full-season learners have the added opportunity to build friendships and community from one adventure to the next.

SEPTEMBER — Books Lead to Magical Places

What better way to begin Beyond the Book than with a story about discovering that an ordinary doorway can lead somewhere extraordinary?

For our very first gathering, we’re stepping through the wardrobe and into the magical world of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.

Learners should read the book before we meet so they arrive ready to explore, discuss, and experience it together. Then we’ll spend the afternoon bringing pieces of Narnia beyond the pages through conversation, creative challenges, story-inspired activities, and a few surprises waiting on the other side of the wardrobe.

Because sometimes opening a book is a little like opening a wardrobe door...

You never know where it might take you

A CURIOSITY CIRCLE EXPERIENCE

Curiosity Circles are small-group enrichment experiences designed to give learners time to explore a topic more deeply through hands-on learning, meaningful discussion, creative challenges, and connection with other curious kids.

Unlike our stand-alone Discovery Days and Learning Labs, Curiosity Circles meet regularly—either weekly over several weeks or monthly—giving learners the opportunity to build connections, develop ideas, and continue discovering together.

Curiosity Circles are drop-off programs for registered learners and are created as enrichment experiences where they can engage independently with their group. Groups remain intentionally small in order to provide thoughtful support while giving learners plenty of opportunity to participate, collaborate, and be known within the group.

Where curiosity meets Discovery.
